Getting Started: Sign Up, Log In & Connect WhatsApp

Create your account, log in, and connect your WhatsApp Business number so you can start messaging.

Last updated 2026-08-14

WhatsApp Cloud is a dashboard for managing WhatsApp Business messaging as a team: a shared inbox, broadcast campaigns, an AI auto-reply bot, and more. Before any of that, there are three one-time steps: create your account, confirm your email address, then connect your WhatsApp Business number. All three take just a few minutes.

Create your account

Creating an account only needs an email address and a password — no company details or credit card required to get started. Your account is created the moment you sign up, but you'll need to confirm your email address before you can sign in — this keeps your account secure and confirms it's really you.

  1. Go to the sign-up page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Choose a password (at least 8 characters).
  4. Confirm the password and submit the form.
  5. Check your email for a confirmation link, and click it.
  6. You're taken to the sign-in page — sign in with the email and password you just chose.
Your password strength is shown live as you type.
You can't sign in until you've clicked the confirmation link — this is a one-time step, not required again after that.
One person's sign-up becomes the account owner — see Team & Roles for what that means and how to invite others.

Sign in with the email and password you used to create your account.

  1. Go to the sign-in page.
  2. Enter your email and password.
  3. Submit the form.
After 5 incorrect password attempts, sign-in is temporarily locked for 15 minutes as a security measure. Wait and try again, or use "Forgot your password?".

Reset your password

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by email.

  1. On the sign-in page, click "Forgot your password?".
  2. Enter the email address on your account.
  3. Check your email for a password reset link.
  4. Follow the link and choose a new password.

Connect your WhatsApp Business number

WhatsApp Cloud connects to your WhatsApp Business number through Meta's own secure sign-up flow — you never need to visit Meta's developer tools directly. Meta handles verifying your business; WhatsApp Cloud just needs your permission to send and receive messages on your number's behalf.

  1. After signing up, go to the Connection page.
  2. Click "Connect WhatsApp".
  3. A Meta-hosted window opens — sign in with the Facebook account tied to your business, and follow Meta's steps to select or create your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number.
  4. Once you finish, you're returned to WhatsApp Cloud and your number shows as Connected.
This step is provided by Meta, so its exact screens may change over time — WhatsApp Cloud always shows you the current connection status.
One WhatsApp number per account currently. Supporting more than one number is on the roadmap.
You can disconnect at any time from the Connection page. Disconnecting stops any active campaigns and the AI bot from sending on that number, so you'll be asked to confirm first.
The Connection page shows your number, connection date, and the last time a message was successfully received, so you can tell at a glance that everything is still working.

Accept a teammate invitation

If a colleague invites you to their WhatsApp Cloud account (see Team & Roles), you'll receive an email with a link to join.

  1. Open the invitation email and click the join link.
  2. If you don't have an account yet, set a name and password to create one on the spot.
  3. If you already have an account, sign in as usual — you'll be added to the inviting account automatically.
  4. You now have access to that account's inbox and other tools, based on the role you were given (owner or staff).
You can belong to more than one account. If you do, a small account switcher appears in the navigation bar so you can move between them.
An invitation link expires after 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. Creating a WhatsApp Cloud account only requires an email and password. You can add a paid plan later from Billing & Plans whenever you're ready.

I didn't get the confirmation email after signing up.

Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's still missing, go to the sign-in page and click "Didn't receive confirmation instructions?" to have it resent.

Why do I need to confirm my email before signing in?

It confirms the account really belongs to you before it can start sending messages on a real WhatsApp Business number. It's a one-time step — once confirmed, you sign in normally from then on.

Do I need to go to Meta's developer site myself?

No — connecting your WhatsApp number happens entirely inside WhatsApp Cloud through Meta's own guided sign-up window. You don't need a separate Meta developer account or any technical setup.

Can I connect more than one WhatsApp number?

Not yet — each account currently supports one connected WhatsApp Business number. Support for multiple numbers per account is on the roadmap.

I didn't get the password reset email.

Check your spam/junk folder first. If it's still missing, make sure you're requesting a reset for the same email address your account was created with.

How do I know my WhatsApp number connected successfully?

The Connection page shows a clear "Connected" status along with your phone number, the connection date, and the last time a message was successfully received on that number.
